What is DriftDrift?
DriftDrift is a free, browser-based art project and prediction game about collective visual taste. Players study images submitted by the community and predict whether each image’s score — its momentum — will rise or fall. Every observation opens at a momentum of 100, and its market closes once it reaches 100 total positions.
DriftDrift was created by InCaseOf. It is often described as “Pinterest meets Wall Street”: the mechanics of a prediction market applied to aesthetics rather than money. Nothing is bought or sold, and reputation is the only thing at stake.
DriftDrift is not a cryptocurrency, a token, or a DeFi protocol. There is no blockchain, no wallet and no real money. It is unrelated to Drift Protocol, the DeFi project with a similar name.

- What is momentum in DriftDrift?
- Momentum is the score attached to every image on DriftDrift. Every observation enters the feed at 100, and community votes move that number up or down. The market closes once the image reaches 100 total positions.
- How do you win a prediction?
- You win by calling the direction correctly. When a market closes, DriftDrift compares the final momentum against the starting value of 100: above 100 means the image rose, below 100 means it fell. You vote once per image and cannot change it.
- Why is the momentum hidden until you vote?
- Each image’s momentum stays hidden until you take a position, so the crowd’s score cannot anchor your judgement. After voting you see the value, the chart and how the signal is moving.
- Is DriftDrift free, and do you need an account?
- DriftDrift is free to play. You can browse the feed without signing in, but an account is required to take a position, submit an image, use Swipe Mode or flag content.
